Elan and Bashar both mention the dream like nature of physical reality and that what we call our nighttime dream is found, upon awakening as a realization that that dream was contained within us though it seemed we were in a landscape and just as 'external' world. So, physical reality is another relationship we have as consciousness intersecting with matter (which is also consciousness).
That got me thinking.... ever had one of those dreams where you find yourself naked in public? Did you forget to get dressed or something? Did you use some dream money to go to a dream store and pick out some dream clothing to wear? Usually I know I'm dressed within a dream, but could I tell you what I was wearing? No. Do I recall dressing into those clothing, or does it all just arise all at once in the moment? retorical questions here folks....just having fun.
18th century mystic/seer/scientist Emanuel Swedenborg writes about angels being dressed in colors appropriate to their nature, and that the angels closest to God were in fact naked. He is quite an interesting fellow who wrote about spirit travels to heaven, hell and other worlds, describing some of them and their culture. Very interesting. Check out the 'off the left eye' YT channel for some quality edutainmant. Anyway... I digress. Swedenborg mentions how we find ourselves in the afterlife clothed appropriately to our being. Interesting.
So, what I say is that our physical experience is another dreaming, and there are an infinity of dream worlds to explore. It's all One consciousness at play as characters and seeming separate things ... One dreaming of all worlds, all beings, all things... how wondrous!
So, the next time you catch yourself in a dream...ask.... where did that clothing come from?
Another thing I noticed about dreams... notice how there is never a question about how we got to where we find ourselves? It's as if the environment arises as we do and we just find ourselves 'there'. I live in central Ct, NYC is about 2 hrs driving in one direction and Boston is about 2 hours driving in the other direction, yet in my dream state I know I can 'get there' in about 20 min. by walking fast. Other times I'm just in NYC automatically. When I go to my own city's downtown it's in the 1920's or earlier usually. A few miles to the west there is a huge mountain range yet in this physical world that is not the case. Of course there are often people I do not know 'here', yet in the dream I know them very well. Other times it's versions of the people I know and even myself. Sometimes I'm pretty clueless and find myself in situations that seem designed to get me angry which I usually fall for. Weird.
It's always so much fun reading your posts. So much wisdom, interspersed with a light fun attitude, and general silliness, which is so refreshing. And, they're never predictable, inviting everyone into the moment, plucked right out from the habitual ritual.
Having been naked in a dream, and wondering, "where did those clothes go? Surely the thought to dress would be a natural precursor to having gone out amongst all of these people?", this is something that many of us have experienced. There are a couple of other interpretations for this "bare" experience. While one interpretation might be the self-assessment of feeling "unprepared," another idea is that we are exploring being comfortable with becoming more vulnerable, in the sense of being more open, experiencing the chance to feel comfortable being all "out there."
Perhaps the way to distinguish the difference is in how we respond to the situation in the dream. Feeling the need to "go find pants right now" is indicative that we are exploring feeling unprepared and giving ourselves a chance to ... rectify (sorry, couldn't resist) -- the situation, by quickly finding a creative solution (and pants, or at least a loin cloth). Maybe we get to the point where we are simply alright with being naked, this would indicate that we are beginning to embrace the openness of vulnerability. I'm not able to claim to have gotten to this point. You? I thought not.😱
The lack of obvious linear causality in sleeping dreams would explain why we don't recall dressing in a dream, or generally how we even got to the location that we're at, or how did I get here when I was just there, and yeah why didn't I notice that I suddenly popped from one place to another until I awoke? From this dream, our impression of that dream is even different than when in that dream. Layers upon layers, like ... clothing. Hmmm.
And are angels really "dressed" in colors, or is this an interpretation of the beholder, projecting subjective expectations, and subjectively relevant symbols to examine and explore? Perhaps one person's angel might play the banjo, instead of the harp? To that, we say, "yeeehaaa." And, are we still needing to cover up when we're non-physical? What would be the cloth, perhaps the fabric of creation, the tapestry of existence? 🤔
Oh, the rabbit holes we could go down. They are endless. I guess we'll have to decide how to dress for the rabbit holes, or if we're finally ready to go bunny hopping ... au naturale. 🐰🕺🏻💃🏼
